Ian Anderson

Minister

I was born and grew up in Nottingham, England until moving to South Wales in 2005 because of pastoral ministry. I have been married to my wife Jill for thirty-three years and now have two adult children, two son-in laws and three grandchildren.

I always knew God was calling me to serve in full time pastoral ministry. So eventually when I sensed the time was right, I moved on to train at Elim’s Regents Theological College, then located in Nantwich.

I have had the privilege of serving as the Pastor at Bethel since September 2010. It was a return to Neath having previously served as the Assistant Pastor here for two years, before moving for three years to lead an assembly in the Pontypridd area.

My desire is to see God’s church become not just accessible but a realistic choice for all people, no matter where they are on their spiritual journey towards knowing God. I believe church culture, can be relevant without compromise of the timeless truths of the Bible.

As well as my love of the Bible, Jill and our family, I also enjoy the worlds of Marvel and DC. I am a ‘Mac’ rather than a ‘PC’ man and appreciate good coffee. We also have a mischievous and a forever young dog called ‘Chilli’.

To relax I enjoy spending time with Jill doing stuff together. Additionally, I enjoy photography, eating out and film watching.

My life verse from the Bible is 1 Corinthians 15:10
‘But by the grace of God I am what I am and His grace to me was not without effect.’
This constantly reminds me to extend to others the grace that I first received, when I met Jesus.
