Love God, Love Neighbour.
Reference Mark 12: 28-44.
In Mark 12:28-44, Jesus instructs that we are to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength, and to love our neighbour as ourselves.
Jesus does not instruct the scribe to love only God, or to love only our neighbour, but to love God and love neighbour. What does it look like for us today to love God and love neighbour?
Regarding loving God, this means every part of our being, including our intellect, emotions, skills and glorifying God in our physical work.
For loving our neighbour, this means to desire their salvation, to pray for them, to help them in any number of ways, both large and small.
The task however, is ultimately too great, that we cannot love God or our neighbour as we as commanded. This is why we need the Holy Spirit to help us, that we may walk in the way of Jesus to the glory of the Father.
