The moment we receive and trust in the Holy Spirit, He comes and makes His dwelling within us.
He brings everything He has, He doesn’t wait until we speak in tongues, interpret tongues or prophesy, from the start He’s all in.
“In Him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,”
Ephesians 1:13 ESV
Not only that but He moves in permanently. Once He moves in He never moves out.
I give them eternal life,and they shall never perish; no one willsnatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. John 10:28-29
The questions we need to ask ourselves; Are we saved? Are we sure?and Are we secure?
The analogy that Paul uses was common to the ancient world. A seal speaks of authenticity and ownership.
An important person would write a letter and to prove it’s authenticity they would role up the scroll, melt wax onto the seal and then using their signet ring would stamp or press the mark into the wax to seal the letter.
The recipient would then see the unbroken seal and trust that this was an authentic letter from the sender.
When we are saved, God puts His Holy Spirit in us as proof that our salvation is real and authentic.
God does that for us, He impresses Himself on us. We are His, sealed by the Holy Spirit.
We are marked as His possession.
The Holy Spirit is the promise of God. He said he would send it to anyone who will receive Him.
The Holy Spirit is the seal of God. The mark of authenticity.
The Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee. His pledge to deliver us safely for eternity.
God assures us He is coming back for us, He may have gone to Heaven but He’s coming back!
God promises His inheritance, the Holy Spirit as a taster of what it is to come in eternity.
The Holy Spirit affirms that we are in God. In and through the Holy Spirit we have been ‘Signed, Sealed and will be Delivered’ intact to God the Father.
He has sealed us for eternity!
“Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”
John 14:17 ESV
We pray that you would accept, receive and walk in the Spirit. That you may be drawn closer to the Father’s heart as He calls us His own. He dwells within you & longs to be with you. Welcome Him & let Him take you to new levels.
