Pastor Ian concludes this series ‘Simply’, with the additional focus on ‘Showing Jesus’.

Reading from 2 Corinthians 3:1-18

The Holy Spirit will be made manifest in those who love him.

When the glory of God comes, it will appear in our hearts and fill our bodies. It will not inhabit a building or a certain type of atmosphere.

The presence of Jesus in His church is not a corporate matter but very much an individual one.

But there is a warning because when the presence of God is manifested in us, it will expose all secrets and bring hidden things into the open.

When the spirit of God comes, He reveals to us everything we have in our lives.

When people look at us, they should see the evidence of Jesus working in our lives.

If we want to be like Jesus we need to first see Him. SEEING Him is the key to SHOWING Him

The only person who can bring change is Jesus.

When we look to Jesus, the natural consequence is that we are transformed (v18).

We become what we behold (the time we spend most of our time looking at)

We need to spend our time looking at Him.

Like standing in a mirror, we need to see Jesus being reflected.

Paul was writing to those in church, not those outside of it. He still had to challenge them, to lift the veil and see Jesus as He truly is

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. He has come to set us free.

We pray that today you will be able to Show Jesus. That you you would know him yourself, to be able to reflect his glory and transformation in your life. We pray as his people, we would fully know and live out the life God has in store for us. That we live our lives in the fullness for what we always intended.
