Pastor Ian this morning brings an encouraging word; God the ‘Waymaker’.

Reading from Exodus 14:10-25 and Joshua 3:9-17.

We live in a society with many options but God is not one in a menu of options. He is the one who makes the way when there is no way. God wants to reinforce to us that He is the way maker. He wants to inspire people through the Holy Spirit to call on Him again, for those promises still yet to be fulfilled.

God wants to tell us, He is the Waymaker.

Pharaoh’s army’s were sent in great number to get the Israelites. However, God stood in the gap between them. All he asked of the Israelites and Moses was to trust in Him and stand firm. This was their crossroads of faith.

What did he ask them to do? Nothing.

God makes a way, when there seems to be no way. All it takes is a step of faith.

We often see the movies account which shows the sea being parted in an instant. However the account in Exodus tells us something different.

“Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the Lord drove the sea back by a strong east wind all night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭14:21‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It took all night to part the Sea. The miracle can happen in an instant but most of the time it takes persistence, travailing, endurance, faithfulness, resolve and prayer to push through.

The moment the priests stepped into the water, the water stopped flowing upstream. They were literally living out 2 Corinthians 5:7 ‘For we walk by faith not by sight’

Doubt lives in the mind but the heart is the home of faith.

There may be things in our lives, waiting for a miracle but not realised it’s already happened.

Keep standing in the water, believe for your restoration, your healing, your miracle is coming!

We are the ones who carry’s his presence.  Keep quiet and trust him to bring the miracles.

You may not know how or why, but I hope you know WHO.

Keep believing that the miracle is coming.

We pray that whatever your circumstances may be, you will know and trust in the Almighty God, that he can move and change situations. We pray that you will learn to put your hope and trust in him completely, believing for the miracle that is coming!
